Kanga Kooler™ does not contain
any artificial flavors, colors, preservatives or sweeteners.
Kanga Kooler™ contains only natural flavors and
sweeteners. Kanga Kooler’s great fruit punch flavor
was created by combining natural fruit juice concentrates
and other natural flavors.
If Kanga Kooler™ has a
lot less sugar than typical kid’s drinks, and no
artificial sweeteners, what makes it so sweet?
Kanga Kooler™ contains a unique
proprietary blend of fruit juice concentrates and other
natural ingredients that act synergistically with a small
amount of natural fruit sugar to produce a highly enhanced
level of natural sweetness. This natural sweetness enhancing
effect has taken many years to develop and is in the process
of being patented by our team of food and nutritional
scientists.
Even though Kanga Kooler™
is made with natural fruit sugar, what if my kids think
it tastes too sweet?
We recommend you mix one packet of Kanga
Kooler™ to 6-8oz. of cold water either in a glass
or bottle of cold water. If you find it’s too sweet,
you may want to add more cold water.
Why is the Kanga Kooler™
single serve packet so much larger in size than other
single serve packets?
Most children's drinks offer very little
nutritional value and contain primarily sugar, flavors
and colors. Sadly, many of these drinks actually contain
artificial flavors and colors, rather than the more expensive
natural flavors, and some even contain artificial sweeteners.
Since artificial ingredients are inexpensive and highly
concentrated, most common children’s drinks require
a very small serving size. We took a totally different
approach with Kanga Kooler. Kanga Kooler is delicious
naturally flavored and naturally sweetened children's
drink that provides a full range of healthy nutrients
in every serving. Each serving of Kanga Kooler contains
3 grams of Fiber (about the same amount as 1 slice of
whole grain bread), 3 grams of Protein, and 21 Essential
Vitamins and Minerals. And Kanga Kooler is flavored and
sweetened with natural fruit juices and low glycemic natural
fruit sugar. Kanga Kooler is more than a great tasting
healthy children's drink and our larger serving size and
superior nutritional content is something that we are
very proud to talk about.
You say Kanga Kooler™
is protein fortified. What are some of the benefits of
protein?
Protein is a very important nutrient
that is required for growth, development and good health.
Protein is required for the growth and repair of muscles,
bones and connective tissues. Protein can also help to
suppress the appetite because it is digested more slowly
than most carbohydrates and has a limited effect on blood
sugar.

What are the benefits of fiber?
Fiber is important for both cardiovascular
and gastrointestinal health. Most Americans consume fiber
deficient diets that can lead to constipation and a variety
of long-term health problems.
Why is Kanga Kooler™ better
for my children than fruit juice?
Small amounts of fruit juice are perfectly
healthy for most children. However, a typical serving
of natural fruit juice contains more sugar, ounce for
ounce, than a can of Coca Cola®. So, while one small
glass of juice per day is okay for most children, drinking
large amounts of juice as a thirst quencher just adds
too much sugar and too many calories to a child’s
daily diet. Many experts feel that excessive consumption
of juices and juice drinks may be a major contributor
to childhood obesity. The high sugar content of fruit
juices has prompted the American Academy of Pediatrics
to recommend that their young patients (6 years old or
younger) limit their juice intake to 4-6 ounces per day.
Recommendations for older children (7-18 years old) are
a maximum of 8 – 12 ounces of juice per day.
Why did I think that juice was
a good drink to give my kids?
Many parents allow their children to
drink almost unlimited amounts of juice whenever they
are thirsty because juice comes from natural fruit. But
there is a big difference between fruit and fruit juice.
A typical medium sized apple contains 30 grams of sugar,
7 grams of fiber and approximately 150 calories. Most
children can’t eat more than one or two apples per
day because the apple takes time to eat and the natural
fibers and pulp tend to help satisfy their hunger pretty
rapidly. A typical 8 oz serving of apple juice contains
about the same amount of sugar as a medium sized apple.
But the juice contains very little pulp and fiber and
is so easy to drink, that children can easily consume
4-6 servings per day. Four-6 servings of juice per day
represents from 120 – 180 grams of sugar and from
480 – 720 calories. That’s a very high sugar
and high calorie thirst quencher.
What is the difference between
a juice drink and a natural juice?
By law, any beverage that is labeled
as a “juice” must be 100% pure fruit juice.
Beverages that contain less than 100% juice are typically
called juice drinks, punch or some similar name that distinguishes
them from pure juice.
If juice drinks are not 100%
juice, what are they?
Most juice drinks contain less than
10% real fruit juice in combination with natural or artificial
colors and flavors, added sugar and in some cases, preservatives.
Most juice drinks or punches are essentially sugar water,
though some companies do add Vitamin C to their products
to make them more marketable.
Why does Kanga Kooler™
cost more per serving than other leading kid’s drinks?
Most children’s drinks are characterized
as sugar and water - two very inexpensive ingredients.
Even the pure natural juices contain mostly sugar and
water, though pure fruit juices do contain some other
nutrients. Kanga Kooler™ is a functional children’s
drink that has been fortified with expensive, health promoting
natural nutrients. Kanga Kooler™ is a good source
of both protein and soluble fiber and a good source of
21 essential vitamins and minerals.
What is meant by the terms,
a “good source” or an “excellent source”
of a nutrient?
The Federal Food and Drug Administration
(FDA) define a food as a “good source” of
a nutrient if it contains a minimum of 10% of the daily
value (requirement) of that nutrient. To be called an
“excellent source”, a food must contain at
least 25% of the daily value of a specified nutrient.
Kanga Kooler™ is a good source of protein and fiber,
and a good source of 21 essential vitamins and minerals.
Does a serving of Kanga Kooler™
replace the daily vitamin that I give my kids?
Most children’s vitamins (animal
shaped chewables and gummy bear supplements) contain low
concentrations of only a limited number of essential vitamins
and many of them contain few if any minerals. Many of
these children’s supplements may actually contain
fewer nutrients and lower potencies than a single serving
of Kanga Kooler™. So in most cases, it is perfectly
okay for a child to continue taking their children’s
vitamin formula and 1-4 servings of Kanga Kooler™
each day. It is always wise to discuss any questions about
your child’s specific nutritional requirements with
your pediatrician.
Does Kanga Kooler™ contain
all of the vitamins and minerals that my child needs to
support healthy growth and development?
One serving of Kanga Kooler™ is
a good source (25% of daily value) of 21 essential vitamins
and minerals and a good source (10% if daily value) of
Calcium and Iron. Kanga Kooler™ contains only a
limited amount of Sodium and Potassium. It does not contain
Magnesium, Phosphorus or Chloride. Kanga Kooler™
is not intended to be your child’s only source of
these essential vitamins and minerals but rather as a
great addition to a nutritious and healthy diet.
Do I need to worry about my
child receiving too much iron if they drink Kanga Kooler™
everyday?
Iron is an essential nutrient for developing
children, but because of its potential for toxicity, we
have limited the amount of Iron in each serving of Kanga
Kooler™ to 10% of the daily value or 1.8 mg / serving.
At this low concentration, a young child could consume
a full bag of 12 packets of Kanga Kooler™ (Approximately
12 servings) within a 24 hour period with absolutely zero
chance of toxicity.
How many glasses of Kanga Kooler™
may my child drink in one day?
We recommend 1-4 servings of thirst
quenching and nutritionally fortified Kanga Kooler™
per day.
Can my child drink too much
Kanga Kooler™?
We recommend a maximum of 4 servings
(approximately 32 ounces) of Kanga Kooler™ per day
because that is the amount of Kanga Kooler™ that
provides 100% of the daily value of most of the essential
vitamins and minerals. However, a child could drink 10
– 20 servings of Kanga Kooler™ in a single
day without any side effects other than a possible upset
stomach. Keep in mind, 10 - 20 servings of water or milk
would be also expected to produce an upset stomach!
I am trying to get my teenager
to eat healthier, can they drink Kanga Kooler™?
Absolutely! Kanga Kooler™ is a
great choice for health-minded teenagers and adults, though
it may be a bit sweeter tasting than products designed
specifically for adults. Kanga Kooler™ delivers
the same great nutritional benefits to older members of
the family as well. Try mixing up a pitcher of Kanga Kooler™
for the whole family!
If I mix up a pitcher of Kanga
Kooler™ and keep it in the refrigerator, how long
will it last?
Kanga Kooler™ always tastes best
when it has been freshly mixed because water activates
Kanga Kooler’s essential vitamins and minerals and
these concentrated nutrients will eventually disrupt Kanga
Kooler’s delicate natural flavors.
Is Kanga Kooler™ available
in any other flavors?
At the present time, Kanga Kooler™
is only available in all natural fruit punch flavor. However,
our team of experts are working on several exciting new
flavors and expect to be able to expand our flavor choices
some time in the future. Watch for new flavors!
Who designed Kanga Kooler™
and what are their qualifications?
Kanga Kooler™ was developed by
a team of professional food and nutritional scientists
and a group of concerned parents who were looking for
a healthy, nutritional, great tasting beverage for their
kids. The development of Kanga Kooler™ has taken
more than five years with the technical challenges associated
with creating a children’s beverage that meets the
strict quality and safety qualifications that were adopted
at the beginning of the project and the strict qualifications
by the kids who wanted a thirst quenching, delicious drink
that tasted great!
What does “Mom Approved”
mean?
Kanga Kooler has a Mom Approved Advisory
Board. These are health conscious Mother’s who want
to find healthy products for their children. These Moms
have conducted research in understanding the benefits
of Kanga Kooler™ and the other drink choices available
for their children. They have taste tested Kanga Kooler™
themselves, and find their kids asking for Kanga Kooler™
because they like the thirst quenching taste! Mother’s
have determined they don’t have to tell their kids
Kanga Kooler™ is good for them. They’re happy
they’ve found a good tasting healthy product for
their kids that their kids like to drink. Mom’s
have said “Yes” and approve serving Kanga
Kooler™ to their children
